Willie Fitzharris, Vice Chairperson of New Ross Municipal District officially opened the New Memory Care Unit at Millhouse Care Centre
New Ross Memory Care Centre Opened 12th July 2016
The Memory Care Unit is a specialist facility catering for those with Dementia and memory loss. The Mowlam Memory Care Programme is designed to ease the symptoms of Dementia for an enhanced quality of life. Key to the programme is minimising the need for medication by providing an environment where residents feel safe, secure and familiar. But they also have the freedom to move around in a welcoming and completely secure environment.
Pat Shanahan Executive Chairman of Mowlam Healthcare said ‘We are delighted to be able provide this specialist Memory Care Unit in New Ross. With the increasing need for specific Dementia care services this is now a much needed service in the South East’. He continued ‘I would like to thank Tracy Phillips (Millhouse Director of Nursing) and her team for their commitment and hard work in getting this unique service up and running within Millhouse Care Centre’ He also thanked Fr Thomas Kehoe for blessing the new facility.
Millhouse Care Centre is a modern, comfortable nursing home in New Ross. It comprises of 62 beds mostly single en-suite rooms and has 65 employees. The Memory Care Unit is a specialist unit with dedicated team within the nursing home
