A competition for residents, relatives, visitors and staff was recently hosted by Cloverlodge Nursing Home to ‘name our corridors’. It was fitting that the entire Cloverlodge community would be invited to take part, and that our residents would be involved in naming key areas of their home-from-home.
Thinking caps were donned, heads were scratched and the competition was fierce to name all four corridors! Submissions included names of rivers, mountains, local placenames and saints.
The entries were whittled down and we hosted an announcement party to express our thanks to everyone for embracing the fun.
The winning entry, from resident Pamela Reid, was very presidential and our four corridors are now proudly named the Clinton Suite, Obama Suite, Regan Suite and Kennedy Suite.
Resident Pamela Reid said she was surprised and delighted to have her idea selected as the winning idea, and explained how she choose the presidential names due to the strong links Ireland has with American Presidents.
Pamela’s family, daughter Gemima, sons John and William, were with us the day of the announcement to celebrate with Pamela as she officially opened the Clinton Suite.
Pamela was delighted with her prize, the new plant in her room is flourishing, and she is looking forward to her trip to Castle Durrow in Laois for afternoon tea with her family.
Sincerest thanks to everyone for taking part in this fun initiative.
