Staff at Cloverlodge Nursing Home hosted a Charity ‘Mannequin Challenge’ to raise awareness and money for Offaly Hospice and North Tipperary Hospice, on Tuesday 17th January. The evening was such great fun some of the residents decided to join in.
This Cloverlodge community initiative is all about bringing everyone together to hold an event in the home to support the incredible work of North Tipperary Hospice and Offaly Hospice teams.
Eileen Kirwan, Director of Nursing at Cloverlodge Nursing Home said
”We work with North Tipperary Hospice and Offaly Hospice in providing end-of-life care and have strong links with the community palliative care teams. As all families have experience of grief this is one of the reasons we chose to support the hospices with this evening’s charity challenge. Maintenance of strong ties with their community is very important to our residents and we enjoy facilitating and promoting these links”.
This isn’t the first time a viral social media challenge has been used to raise awareness and funds for worthy causes. 2014’s ice bucket challenge saw people around the world pour freezing buckets of water over their heads in an effort to raise money and awareness of motor neurone disease.
A video of the mannequin challenge will be viewable on the Mowlam Healthcare facebook page @mowlamhealthcare – why not pop over and show your support.
