90 ‘single-occupancy’ room facility to be operated by country’s leading provider, Mowlam Healthcare
Healthcare provision for elderly in North West Dublin has been boosted by the official opening today of Ireland’s newest nursing home by Catherine Byrne, Minister of State at the Department of Health
Clearbrook Nursing Home, which has been developed at a cost of €10m, is the latest addition to healthcare infrastructure in the Finglas area. It will provide expert care for 90 residents, each with their own en-suite bedrooms and employ 110 people at full occupancy.
Developed by James Barry of Greenmast Ltd and located in the Heathfield area of Finglas, opposite Cappagh National Orthopedic Hospital, Clearbrook Nursing Home will be operated by one of the country’s largest and leading providers of elderly care, Mowlam Healthcare.
Mowlam currently operates 29 locations around the country, including Mount Carmel short stay beds Hospital in Churchtown, Dublin, and Ballincollig Community Nursing Unit, Co. Cork on behalf of the HSE. The name of the nursing home is taken from the original meaning of Finglas, which is Irish for clear stream/brook.
Officially opening the new facility, Catherine Byrne Minister of State in the Department of Health said:
“We are determined as a government to ensure that elderly people live in dignity and independence, whether in their own homes, communities or where necessary in high quality long-term residential care such as this new facility I am happy to open today. Our objective is to see high quality service, delivered to those who require it, in the most appropriate setting and I have every confidence, not least given the track record of Mowlam Healthcare, that these objectives will be met here.”

Ultimately, nursing home care is about quality facilities and compassionate, expert care and we know the residents at Clearbrook will get all of that.”
