“As Ireland’s largest provider of nursing home care and palliative care services our care teams are highly trained on how to improve the quality of life of our residents and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of their suffering. We are delighted to support again this year the fundraising effort of the IHF, and support hospices at local level near our nursing homes throughout the country.”
said Head of Business Development Joe Hanrahan
In a recent IHF survey of almost 2,600 people across Ireland about their personal views on what they feel is needed for a good death and the fears they have about serious illness and end of life, unsurprisingly, the results of the survey show that most people want to be pain-free, to be treated with and to die with dignity, to feel comfortable and cared for.
