The prestigious NATIONAL CARER OF THE YEAR accolade has been scooped by senior carer Marie Moynihan of Killarney Nursing Home, at the glittering Nursing Homes Ireland awards ceremony in City West Hotel, Dublin, on the 15th of November 2018.
The NHI Care Awards is the definitive celebration of excellence across the Irish nursing home sector, promotes best practice in nursing homes and pays tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to care excellence.
Marie Moynihan began working as a Care Assistant in Killarney Nursing Home in 2012, and through the Mowlam Career Development Programme advanced to Senior Carer. Marie previously trained and worked in the UK as a state enrolled nurse where she gained valuable experience in both hospitals and nursing homes. Marie is passionate about the holistic care of people with dementia and she promotes patient-centred care, The Mowlam Way, at all times – enriching the lives of the older people in her care with compassion, dignity and respect. Marie has gained the upmost respect and trust of both the residents, their families and her colleagues.
