We are launching an inter-generational art competition today, encouraging children to support older people in nursing home care, during this difficult time of COVID visitor restrictions – help us bring a smile to their faces today and every day.
We are asking residents’ grandchildren, school children and teenagers to paint or draw to help brighten our residents’ days, at a time when they can’t hug their loved ones. Your artwork will instill conversation, positive engagement and inspire our residents to go on and make art also, to hang beside yours.
Paintings and letters will be displayed in each home for the enjoyment of all, and four winners will be selected, each receiving a €25 book token.
Our homes will also share photos of residents enjoying the letters, paintings and the display/gallery with us on the Mowlam Healthcare Community Facebook page.
HOW TO ENTER
1 Take a photograph of your child’s painting/drawing (take flat in natural light) and email to copperreed@mowlamhealthcare.com
We will then print the artwork in each home and avoid a scenario where your thoughtful packages could accidentally expose vulnerable residents and our care teams to the virus, even-though experts believe that risk is minimal.
2 PLEASE ensure to include your full name, address and contact number so we can contact the winners (your details will be deleted after the competition ends).
Closing Date: Friday April 24th
On behalf of our residents, we thank you in advance for taking part. Your creativity and thoughts will bring such joy and happiness to everyone living in Mowlam Healthcare nursing homes and transitional care facilities.
