Minister Paul Kehoe TD opens specialist Memory Care Centre in Castle Gardens Nursing Home, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
Wexford’s dedicated Memory Care Centre, with specialist dementia trained care team, providing high-quality dementia care to enhance the quality of life for people living with dementia and Alzheimers.
Minister Paul Kehoe officiated at the official opening of the new Memory Care Centre in Castle Gardens Nursing Home and said:
“We are privileged to have this new and impressive facility in Wexford. This will enable those with dementia to live with dignity in the most appropriate setting.”
Castle Gardens Memory Care Centre is managed by Mowlam Healthcare which currently operates 26 nursing homes around the country including specialist Memory Care Centres in Kilcolgan, Co Galway, Kilrush Co Clare and Adare, Co Limerick. Memory Care is their unique model of person-centred specialist care, designed to ease the symptoms of dementia for an enhanced quality of life and empower individuals through the appropriate therapy. The Centre is contributing to the ongoing enhancement of care for residents of Castle Gardens Nursing Home and giving peace of mind to families knowing that a loved one is receiving expert care, attention, stimulation and support in a secure and compassionate community.
Castle Gardens Memory Care Centre has been designed to provide a dementia-friendly environment and all the comforts of home for those living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, other forms of memory loss and cognitive impairment. The dementia-friendly environment helps residents remain independent and socially engaged in comforting surroundings. Their person-centred memory care programme is built around a deep understanding of resident’s individual needs and wishes.
