An invitation to the Aras for residents of Ennis Nursing Home.
Ennis Nursing Home residents Cissy, Gay, Mary and John spent a wonderful day in the company of President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina recently, in Áras an Uachtaráin, at an afternoon tea reception.
Our wonderfully independent residents wrote to The President two years ago saying they would love to visit for tea and they got a reply that their letter would be kept on file. The recent arrival of an invitation in the post was an exciting surprise when it arrived in October.
Residents travelled to Dublin, in the company of Fiona, Annie, Trish and Miriam. They had a wonderful day, beginning with a mini tour of the Aras and the grounds followed by a meeting with the President and his wife Sabina, afternoon tea and entertainment by acclaimed singer Kathy Nugent. All in all a fabulous and memorable visit that meant a great deal to residents and their families.
